Even though a fridge can keep our food safe to eat at least for some days .After a few weeks, you may open the door of refrigerator only to be assaulted by a smell. But , there are many ways to get rid of a bad odour in your fridge,  if you do a little bit of work and follow these helpful tips.
Remove the Source of the Odour
First of all, you need to find out and remove the source of the odour in your refrigerator. It might be food the that has been kept in refrigerator even after its expiration date, which should hopefully be quite easy to find. If you don’t be able to sniff out what is source of causing the bad odour in your fridge, all of your cleaning efforts will be in vain.
Wipe Everything Down
Once you have removed the source causing bad odour, your next step will be to clean and sanitize the refrigerator. Remove everything from your fridge, and clean all the shelves and other surfaces thoroughly, and clean everything down with a solution of bleach and water. For best results, add a spoon of bleach to one gallon of water. Most refrigerator shelves and drawers can be removed for easy cleaning, so take full advantage of that.
Dealing with Stubborn Odours
If you still cannot get rid of the odour even if you’ve cleaned your refrigerator roughly, you may need to take some more additional steps. You can air out a smelly refrigerator if you remove everything out of it and leave it unplugged with the door open for 24 hours. To avoid getting bad smells in the future, keep boxes of baking soda or open containers of coffee grounds or activated charcoal in your refrigerator to absorb odours.
If all else fails and your refrigerator is still fairly new, you can go to a refrigerator store near you to find out about getting a replacement. Many refrigerators come with a warranty upto certain period that cover things such as foul smells problem. Ask a person at the appliance store from where you have purchased the refrigerator for more information.
